Our E-Lab Challenge Journey
From idea to impact—follow our path through the E-Lab Challenge as we tackled Rwanda's career guidance gap and brought Tegra to life.
Challenge 1: Introduction
In this video, we presented our core values, bold ideas, and the strategy behind our work as part of the ALU Think Tank Challenge 2025. We are a team of young changemakers on a mission to reimagine Africa's future. Rooted in culture and powered by innovation, our work is driven by bold thinking, collaboration, and purpose.
Challenge 2: Discover Africa
We Chose the Water is a powerful short film created by emerging African thinkers exploring the legend of Igbo Landing—a historic act of resistance by captured Igbo people in 1803 who chose the water over bondage. This film reimagines that moment through spoken word, storytelling, and Afro-futurist reflection, reminding us that our history is not only pain—it's power, choice, and legacy.
Challenge 3: HELP-LAB
As part of the HELP-LAB Challenge, we visited an agricultural exhibition in Rwanda—not just as students, but as advocates for change. Our mission: to listen, document, and amplify the real challenges local farmers face. In just 3 minutes, you'll hear about issues like climate unpredictability, access to tools, and market challenges—directly from the people who live it. We offered our voices, time, and digital skills to make sure these stories are not ignored.
Challenge 4: Launch Our Mission
We're building a digital platform — combined with real mentorship clubs inside schools — to help students explore tech careers, build skills, and connect with mentors who can guide their journey. Whether online or offline, Tegra empowers students to discover their path and rise into Rwanda's growing tech ecosystem. This is our pitch for the E-Lab Challenge. We believe with the right support, the next generation of innovators is already here — they just need a path.
